I ride a motorcycle and with helmet and gloves on, the home button turns out to be super useful in terms of not having to take that stuff off to use the phone briefly to search something on Google maps or change the music.

Duplicating the same body, during manufacturing, keeps the cost low. However, I think this will be the last time the SE looks the same as last year. I think the next SE will have an XR body. We’ll see.

Edit: infact, I have a prediction to make. The very next SE for next year will have the XR body. It would make a crap load of sense since the XR was their best seller and as their flagships move to hole punch.

Unfortunately the SE goes for 519€ in Europe which just is too much for what you get compared to others in this price range.

They could have used iphone xr body.
They could have saved money in design and screen department because of Xr’s low resolution ips display. And we would have got bigger screen, better camera and the most important way better battery life. I am willing to pay 500 or even 600 dollars if they would have done that.

MKBHD is totally right about the Home Button. iPhone SE form factor is used in order to offer easy entry into the ecosystem, and generate desire for more expensive products. Adding any feature cannibalizes the product that actually offers that feature.
