The increase in cost was likely due to the increased costs across the globe of shipping, energy, semiconductors etc.

Almost all sectors across all industries are experiencing a cost price increase and its even more pronounced in technology.

I am someone who works in the technology industry.

If you look at this phone vs other phones based on longevity and you divide the price by the number of expected years use, this phone is probably best value in class.

I also appreciate a phone that will last longer as its just better for the enviroment. Yes you can use fancy materials to “improve” sustainability but the best method to be sustainable is consumption. $429 is a serious price for a phone so it wont be purchased as a “cheap spare” that gets tossed in a few months time but in most cases a daily driver that will be a work horse.

I think a lot of reviewers do not understand that gestures aren’t great for everyone. Some lack the dexterity to execute them. Personally, my thumb clicks into place so many gestures I can’t do unless I’m 2 handed. If I got an iPhone it would be the se for the home button. On Android I opt for 3 button nav. It’s not just boomers being boomers

Since 13 mini is the last “mini” iPhone, I would bet that iPhone SE 2024-2025 will be based of 13 mini.

I’d be ok with this phone at $299 but at it’s new increased price, I’d rather use a more capable Android device.

It’s a cheap iphone which is not really cheap
Like I rather just invest some more money and buy a iphone 12 or something . I was actually wating for se 3 because I thought they will probably change the battery life on it but still nothing so it becomes a no go.

Lets be honest this the perfect phone for a kid/ teen an adult wont be buying one unless they are old or in a financially tight position. This a phone that will be offered for 10 bucks a month by budget carriers

And the wierd part is, no one, literally no one who watches MKBHD videos will buy this phone, may be for parents but I’d say iPhone SE 2020 is a better deal
