Here are my two cents, for what it’s worth:
I just bought the iPhone SE 2022 about 2 weeks ago. My reasons?
I had an iPhone 8+ since 2018, and I felt it was time for a new one.
I wanted a smaller phone that light and fits in my pocket better than my last one, without breaking the bank. I have an iPad Pro12.9 3rd generation, as well as a MacBook Air, so I don’t need to stream movies or play many games on my phone.
I compared the SE 2022 to the iPhone Mini, and the 11. I thought that this was a better value for my money. I didn’t need all the bells and whistles. Note: I’m 53 years old. If I was 15-20 years younger, I would probably feel differently.
The SE 2022 was familiar to me. Don’t care about bezels, night mode, face ID, etc.. Just give me a solid iPhone that works. Plus with the A15 Bionic chip, this phone is much faster than my iPhone 8+. And I can keep it for another 4 years or so if I want. This phone has been great so far. And the battery life has been just fine.
Some other thoughts –
– I’ve seen quite a few people complain that they should have placed the iPhone SE 2022 into the 8+ body and added an OLED screen, Night Mode, etc…. There’s no way that Apple would ever do that because they know that it would drive up the cost even more, and would take huge sales away from their flagship phones, and also make the mini iPhone line obsolete. Believe it or not, the SE’s body style is still popular in a pretty sizable sector. They sold over 20 million of the SE 2020.
– Just a hunch, but I think that Apple released this SE now instead of say, 2024 because the phone carriers wanted all new phones to have 5G, even the “budget” ones. There was no other reason for Apple to release this phone at this time.
– Most of the people complaining about this phone would never buy it in the first place. Apple priced this phone $30 higher than the 2020 version, which includes a better and faster chip, 5G, and better battery life than the last one. And I know, it’s still the same body style, but with everything going on in the world as it relates to inflation, etc… $30 is not a bad increase. Would more people buy it if it were still $399? Or is it just something else to complain about because it’s Apple?
iPhone Still Expensive
If this phone had OLED i would have bought it.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING 🙏🙌🙌
everyone is complaining about ultrawide and battery. if they add these features then who would want to buy an iphone 13 when they got this phone..
the only thing bad about this is a 5.5 inch display with 3500mah would make it a decent iphone and better than any midrange android. i still miss windows though.
The iPhone SE is basically like an 800hp miata
I’m getting it….
I like Simple…. Long Lasting…. Good Quality….
It will be replacing my Blackberry Q10….
Bought a first gen se on release… still works perfect… just picked up a 13 pro but really feeling I should have gone with this 3rd gen after this video. Same power and I don’t really need the camera on the 13 pro.
this phone is trash dont get it.
the battery runns out in 5 hours of light to no use
Using iPhone 8 plus design would definitely solve the problems of the iPhone se 3 period!
Home button 👍 face recognition 👎
Would it be worth it if I’m using a broken car and can’t afford a 12 or 23 due to the economy?
👑Congratulations👑 Best of luck! জীবনের প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত রঙিন হোক
Sh*t edition
I have this phone and have been using it regularly as my daily phone since 2020 and I must say it’s been amazing so far I’ve dropped it several times and still no crack it still runs great I absolutely love this phone and will continue to love it
299$ is worthable
I just ordered it. Mostly because of Touch ID and the price.
it looks like shit and WTF is up with the battery capacity
I’ll take the performance (chip) and longevity any day over battery. I have a charger in my car and a cord on my couch usb plug.
This is my phone of choice:
1. For business use – mainly communication and some browsing, its phenomenal
2. The screen is not bad at all, sure you’re not getting fancy HDR and stuff but again for most practical purposes, its perfect
3. The camera again, great for regular use, you get all the goodness of copy-pasting text from images, QR code scanning and the like
4. The battery life if you don’t fire a game is not a problem at all, GPS drain doesn’t matter because you’re going to have a charger in your car anyways. Oh, and its supports wireless charging and Carplay
5. Design – doesn’t look dated at all. In fact, Its thin, light and so easy to hold, its a single hand phone, which is so, so good. And the home button…much better and reassuring than all the fancy gestures
6. Software -To me, this was the single biggest selling point. iOS is buttery smooth on this phone, you just don’t feel the lag that you feel with android phones and you also don’t get interrupted often. And for all that proprietary technology talk, I”m still struggling to get Android screen mirroring going with my Fire TV while it was a breeze to setup on IOS.
If you aren’t a power user, go for this phone. The rest of the expensive features in iphone 13 etc. are totally not worth the spend. The only things you’re missing out on are professional grade cameras and screen. Most of us don’t need them and won’t even notice it.
