they’ve put the latest processor in it to make it look flashy and draw attention to the “power specs” but what matters in the long run in a phone for you in terms of how much bang you get for your buck is phone’s lifespan.
Product lifespan is also of keen interest to Apple. Not because they want to extend it but because they create products in such a way that they become obsolete in a few years time. Ever wonder why they keep making phones thinner and thinner and thinner still? It’s because they want to make sure they fit in that “allday” battery inside it so that 1 – 2 years down the line when your battery life drops you’ll have to either upgrade or replace the battery which will loose its waterproof sealing.
With the iPhone SE there are actually 2 reasons why you will more likely upgrade in 1 – 2 years down the line the second being the ageing design which dates way back from the dates of iphone 6 and not 8. You can say 8 if you take into consideration that glass back panel but it’s actually an iPhone 6 form factor.
Apple are lazy, greedy. and they take advantage of their position to dominate the market and push products that are designed with obsolescence in mind and this is the reason I will not be buying iPhones anymore and probably my next laptop will be a linux based laptop.

8:17 but they could have used the iPhone SE 2016 and just slap an all screen display on it without the face ID for £400 but they did instead the iPhone Mini with a tiny battery inside and sell it for £700. So fuck them!
Everyone has been waiting for a budget iPhone Mini yet they came up with this £700 price tag and wonder why people don’t buy it. Because it’s a poor investment.
I’m keeping my iPhone se 2016 and my next phone . . well its not going to be an iPhone.

I’ve been using the iphone 8 since it came out. I dont have any complaint about it even after all these years. Battery life has degraded overtime, but I can still do what I need to do and end the day with more than 30%.
This would be a good upgrade for me as I’m not interested in having the best camera or the biggest display. I’ll basically have my current phone, but faster and better battery life.
I was considering a battery change, to squeeze out another couple of years, but who knows, with this phone on the market I might just upgrade.

For people that physically can’t tolerate OLED screens (like myself) but still need a new phone, the SE is a life saver. I hope they continue to put out iPhones that still have LCDs going forward. I know a lot of others that can’t tolerate OLEDs either (get massive migraines from it) and feel exactly the same way as I do. Apple – please continue to keep at least one LCD model in your lineup for OLED-sensitive people! 😊

It’s the size, of 4.7 inches. that’s why people buy it, new small phones just don’t exist anymore. same with iPad mini… and the physical home button. but small size is even more important. at least they still make ultraportable laptops. i am surprised you didn’t even mention the size once.
new samsung s22 ultra for example is 6.8 inches. when you everyday carry, the difference is obvious. there is a chunk of people who want to trade things for compact size.
