If they wanted to use an old iPhone body and screen atleast should’ve used the 8+. Would’ve gotten a 5.5″ screen. Still not the best screen, still insane bezels, wouldn’t be compact. But… The screen is atleast a usable 5.5 inches and they can add a telephoto camera. Make it $500 and I say it is so much more worth it than this!

The reason why I bought the SE model is due to the fingerprint. I honestly HATE the faceID, it never works when I’m wearing the face mask even after the last update, and it fails most of the time even when I’m not wearing the mask and I need to enter manually the PIN. The worst part is when it works, and you still need to swipe up to unlock the phone…. it’s so inconvenient. With the fingerprint, you press the button and that’s it.

I bought someone’s perfect 2020 model for $175, with an 85% battery and 2 months left on Apple Care (maybe I’ll get a new battery out of it). And the 2020 is plenty fast. If you don’t yet care about 5g, then I just don’t see getting the 2022 over a Mini.
The gem of the 2022 is that the 2020 dropped to less than half of its original price. What a steal on a used phone.

If they improved the screen or battery or add camera, it might start cannibalizing into their iPhone sales. I don’t think it’s because of the cost.

Been waiting for the 5G support before switching to the iphone SE. Never used an Iphone before as I always found their pricetags outrageous. Most expensive phone I ever bought was the Huawei Nexus 6P which was a beast at the time. Don’t care much for screens and whatnot, I simply need a lot of storage, a good processor, a decent camera and a relatively smaller phone than the massive bricks we have nowadays.

Might actually pull the trigger on this one.
