One plus of the Home button/TouchID is enabling other family members to unlock the phone/device. Plus some people may find “push a button, it does stuff” easier to remember than various screen swipes/gestures.

An unsung advantage is the ease of supporting this if you are the family tech-support person. Got my mom onto the 2020 SE after years of crappy prepaid phones, and it’s been a dream. She’ll get updates for years, the settings are (99%) the same between devices, apps for businesses, etc etc.

Would have been nice to see USB-C on this though.

Such an excellent product. I really wish there were a budget android that could reliably last 3-4 yrs. My pixel 3a, which I got around launch, is on its last legs…

Although I don’t want to lose all my files by switching to iOS… And android file management is so much easier for emulating games ugh.

What the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 13 mini do not have is the ability to authenticate when we’re out with the mask on, even with the iOS 15.4. The home button solves that.

Why can’t they just make an iPhone with Touch ID in the power button like they did with the iPad they can still have Face ID but have like a 2 factor identification where you can use both
