Apple knows they are selling you an awful looking phone… I got it, 10/10 in performance, not a justification. Wouldn’t it be simpler to use the iPhone 10 body? They won’t, of course, the want to create a clear divide even amongst their own users.

As a sales rep this is a much better alternative for older people who don’t understand/ handle the technology of Face ID I see the reasoning but good selling points

Lets not call a 720p IPS display “bad” stop the sugarcoating, the performance is amazing and the camera does really good for the price. However, the screen is rubbish by today’s standards

7 billion people. how many can afford to spend 529€ ? Save your money ! I see more people with Samsung next to huawei, xiaomi nowadays… Apple don’t sell better technology. They sell you an feeling that you are better or exclusive. Since Steve gone, the Apple iphone has been the “Chanel nº5” Coco product of digital world. Chanel is literally selling same “old dog” perfume with a “new trick” since 1921.

Your “What If?” monologue just explained why Apple didn’t upgrade all the “What Ifs” that you proposed. Those who want one feature a little better will want another feature a little better, and another, and another. And from a project management and engineering budgeting point of view it’d be just more economical to make an actual new flagship.
