I wish they had made new se with 8 plus rather than regular 8. That way it would’ve had a better display and battery life

8:30 Doesn’t just mean new tooling, it also means existing first and third party accessories are no longer compatible. Because of what Apple has done, ten thousand phone stores across the world are keeping iPhone 8 cases/accessories on their shelves and out of landfill.

Actually the SE could have just been an iPhone Xr successor this year instead. You know the iphone 11 and Xr these guys phased out.
No new tooling req. They mass manufactured those phoned before, instead are still manufacturing those phones still!

I think the SE goal is to offer iOS as cheap as possible not only to win over old iPhone users, cheap android users, and global markets where other iPhone prices are inflated – but also get these users onto apple services.
The endgame for the SE is a low barrier of entry to introduce apple services that run smoothly on the new chips.

This good review, my sister is definitely getting this as an upgrade from her se2. Btw you should do a review in my opinion the best midrange for lower than 500 is the lg k92 5g. It’s an amazing phone especially with gcam. It makes the photos look amazing.

I appreciate the review, but it is clear that MKBHD doesn’t understand the mind of a SE user. We don’t want a nice camera or a nice screen. The phone is perfect because it is all performance and no frills. No Face ID? Great. It is the perfect work phone. The only thing that would make it truly perfect is if they scaled it down to the original iPhone dimensions.

screw it, i preordered one and if the camera is better than my s10e (the ultrawide isn’t really that good) i’m keeping it. maybe the battery life will get me to stop using my phone so often in the process.

I think that the SE formula targets large corporations and businesses, I work at mount Sinai hospital as a transporter” we all have SE in my department, then you have nurses and housekeepers that all carry, that’s just my site we have about 8 mount Sinai hospitals in NYC, a homebotton is more convenient when paired with the bulky battery case they give you, not ideal for gestures,
