A banker in my town still uses his first gen SE. Makes over 100k a year, yet he still uses a first gen. Smart way of saving up to retirement quite honestly though.

Indian price of this phone is 43000 ( 560$ ) which is way to higher then a great mid ranger phone

Simple Edition is spot on. The biggest feature I want is size, the smaller the better, and after that, longevity. For a tool that is for texting friends, and the occasional email or that app you need to get around a convention, or to show your tickets at the gate of a concert, this is it. I don’t use the camera, I don’t use it for games, simple is what I want and I like that I can count on the SE iPhone every time.

Glad you mentioned the Home button – that button is why I’m upgrading from my 7+. I want a chip that will support future IOS updates. I could care less about a super camera or bigger battery, and I do believe facial recognition is one of the dumber ideas Apple has come up with.

It’s funny because I’m here still rocking my iPhone 8 that I apparently got back in 2017?!? Wow, the years have really gone by without me noticing. The crazy thing is that my current iPhone is the only iPhone I’ve ever used for more than 2 years and it’s still plenty fast and gets the job done. I remember hearing about the iPhone SE back in 2020 but I never even considered it because my phone was still great and 2020 was a REALLY hard year for me (and probably a lot of other people). The problem I have now is that I think the battery in my phone is reaching it’s limits as I have to charge my phone every day and when I use it heavily a couple times a day where before I could go DAYS without needing to charge it. Because of this, I’ve been debating whether I should just have the battery changed at like an Apple Store or simply upgrade to a new phone given that my current one is 4.5 years old now. My biggest hang-up was that I’ve never been interested in Face ID and I still love having a home button with Touch ID. I was really hoping Apple would join the party with under the glass Touch ID but it doesn’t seem like they’re moving in that direction. With that being said, I think this new iPhone SE 2022 Edition might be the perfect phone for me. In my mind, it doesn’t make any sense to spend a bunch of money getting a new battery put in my current phone when I could just spend more to get something that should last me another 5 years instead. The question is, as MKBHD put it, is if the phone will REALLY last me that long without all those other bells and whistles that I might need in the future. Really, the only one that interests me is a high refresh display as I only ever use the main and selfie cameras in my phones for photos/videos and I typically watch media on my iPad over my iPhone.
