I want the SE to be replaced by something like an iPhone Air, same bodies as the new phones, mini and regular, but with smaller less advanced screens (5” and 5.5”) single camera with the same main sensor of the new iphones (just cause the reg iphone is dual and the pro has three) and like a plastic back and Touch ID on the power button with no Face ID. EDIT: Just one color too – silver rails with a black back

I mean they can be used for the next 5/6 years but who will be using a 20 year old design in 2027/2028. In that time foldables will cost $400

If the rumours of iPhone mini not coming in the next iPhone lineup, I can imagine in 2-3 years, Apple will replace this design by using the design and shell of the iPhone 13 mini and call it SE.
But let’s see what happens in 2-3 years 🙃

What about SE Plus for just simplicity with bigger screen maybe 60fps.. ? I rather have a simple edition ios ecosystem without extra woo ahh that i wont be using and future update supports.

In my case I’ve had a 6s for years now, so I’ve grown accustomed to a short battery life, plus I’d be getting a longer battery life. So this seems like the perfect budget upgrade for me. Thanks for the review!

I don’t think the iPhone SE is a ‘budget’ phone. A budget phone would (at least seemingly) strive to give you the most bang for your buck and is positioned for the young crowd like students who are broke but need the best tech.

I think the target audience is very different. It’s people who are not very technologically proficient. For instance, my mom and grandmom uses the SE 1st gen. My dad uses the SE 2nd gen. Not cause they can’t afford the better iPhones, they just don’t want to spend so much for a phone. Also, they love the bezels and the home button.

I was hoping to hold off from upgrading for another year or two. However, my 8+ is starting to shit the brick. This is what I’m looking into upgrading to. From what I can tell I’ll lose a camera, but gain a better battery, a gig of RAM and a MUCH better chip ? That’s the the trade off I’m seeing. Would anybody else disagree ?
