The chip might last 5 years. The battery certainly won’t which will still make you need an upgrade way sooner than 5 years.

To be honest, I think I’d prolly upgrade to this one. I currently have the 2020 version. For my usual use, it fits me well. The battery is a bit of a letdown. I mean yeah. I’ll prolly sell this for around 200 dollars and then add some 200 more. I still want an iPhone but I ain’t prolly gon buy the 12 mini. So yeah, I mean, you can kind of say it’s a joke, but I see it as the same iPhone se 2020 with better battery (than my current one cuz I’d have to change the battery) and better chip cuz I don’t care that much about photos. And 5G too. So yeah

The problem with longevity with the phone wont be the chip or software support. It will be its small battery degrading a chunk every year (will be affected by this way more than the 13 lineup).

When I changed from my iPhone 6 to my S20 FE, I thought it would be horrible not having a physical homebutton.
Wrong. Just love the “bar” at the bottom of the screen.
