The new SE is another home run for people who liked Apple in the good ol’ days and are old school. Like my dad. For some reason he insisted on a first gen SE a few months before the 3rd gen came out. The guy with the beefiest hands in the family wanted the tiniest phone. No idea why.

I don’t think selling more expensive products changes what we should consider a budget price. With sub $200 budget phones, $400+ is firmly mid-range to me. You get powerhouse phones in the $600-$800 range, and then insane high end luxury devices above that. Considering that few people do anything different with their $1000+ luxury phones, the added cost seems very similar to adding gold and jewels. You don’t even get repairability and longer life.

Using a screen from 8 years ago is kind of insulting tbh, use an XR or XS body and it would have been a real budget contender without the need for an all new design.

Bruhhhhhh, my head is spinninnnn. I cannot get past that screen ughhhhh. I recently bought an iPhone 8 Plus from my iPhone SE 2020… and I love the screen of it… I hate how the SE 2022 has all these amazing characteristics yet, the design keeps me on the low… My iPhone SE 2020 is miles better than the iPhone 8 Plus… but the display is so bad.. I’ve tried to look past that too but the battery is also bad. This new SE 2022 is so much better. It is possible that I could look past the display and focus on all the amazing aspects of the phone.. like the most powerful chipset in the mobile market, a better battery life than the last SE, and an all new and improved camera… but I just don’t know.. I’m thinking ab getting it but I would’ve totally gotten it if it came in a Plus model..

i have the 2020 iphone SE, it’s a great phone. runs good, doesn’t crash, it’s fast, mine still runs great after i’ve had it for a year and a half, the only problems i have are no 5G, and the battery life only lasts me about 3 hours now. i wish it had nightmode on the camera and a better portrait mode but you can’t expect much from 1 camera
