This was lame. You had so much potential!
The “iPhone 4” was the only iPhone that actually was named properly to its generation, as the iPhone 4 has the A4 chip, while the iPhone 5 was A6, and so on, now we have the 13 with A15!
I was 2 at that rime 2010
Good memories. I had an iPhone 4 I paid for the Chinese part kit to convert mine to white. It had the prototype light sensor design that was spotty at best. Still worth it to have every girl in high school asking how I got the white iPhone.
Its like dankpods ipod prototype video
I think this episode should have been longer.
Man, I vividly remember getting my first iPhone, the iPhone 4, like it was yesterday. 12 years ago is wild…
I love how to make the device more inconspicuous they slap the word “Prototype” in a bold font on the back lmao
5:36 – “Say hello to the Newton MessagePad 3000.” Hehe. Did other versions of iOS get the same nickname? Would be fun if the developers all referred to it as the new MessagePad. 😀
Old story I always like to tell of the iPhone 4, back in 2012 me and my brother were out camping somewhere where we had a camper and lake access. We had gone out to the lake, and my brother forgot he had his iPhone 4 in his pocket, jumping into the lake. Thing fell out his pocket, onto the bottom of the lake.
We had found it an hour later, underwater. Took it back to camp, no rice, no nadda, plugged it in and it turned right on.
One of the most well designed indestructible smartphones ever made.
Another one, my mom that following winter lost her iphone 4 in an iced over CVS parking lot. It was ran over and later found by the plow truck, putted across the lot. It was returned to my mom when he got out of his truck, picked it up, and it just worked. He called my dad from the contacts and the phone, altho shattered, still worked after all that.
These were just such, such solid phones. Theyd never make something like it again.
Man I remember the iphone 4, the screen was unbelievable at the time, never seen such a sharp display back then.
I remember my phone 4 had loads of qr codes and labels all over it upon opening. It was weird and probably with a fortune now if I look back 😂 not the norm
Please do other iconic phones too. Blackberry, HTC G1/Hero, Nokia 1100, old Razrs, etc, anything you can get your hands on that shaped the industry down the line that have prototypes.
Is this another 500k prototype?
It’s always so cool to see these prototypes! The iPhone 4 and 4S have a special place in my heart, since in my opinion they still feel like the most comfortable and beautiful iPhones ever made (if we’re purely talking about the dimensions/form factor of course). I can’t help but imagine what it would be like to have modern hardware and software on one of these bad boys (along with a full-screen experience instead of the huge chin and forehead of course!)
the “bat assy” part had me cracking up
2:18 It wasn’t exaggerated. Antennagate was JUST as big of a real world problem as the media made it out to be. Not being able to USE A PHONE AS A DAMN PHONE simply if you HOLD IT LIKE A PHONE was an absolutely MASSIVE PROBLEM! Stop being a freaking delusional Apple fanboy for a single god damn second… -_- … You’re straight up impossible to take seriously sometimes.
Still pretty weird that engineers didn’t expect any problems when customers touch the antennas and short them.
Love your channel. Unlike another similar channel that will remain nameless but starts with T.C your videos do not waffle on and get to the point and are half the length. Yet cover just as much without the grandstanding.
iPhone 4 was my first and las iPhone Update the brought apple maps and then phone shut off never came back on i got Samsung Galaxy S2 and that last Samsung phone i used too I been with LG smart phones ever since
