Apple will never stop the iPhone cause it’s there best seller and the biggest part of there revenue are the iPhone
“Man with VR glasses get pocket picked.” – ConfuseUs
Walking target for thief’s with glasses or googles
Every year he says the same thing “the last iPhone”
I think smart glasses maybe, but another headset. Nahhhh
Comparing the iPod/iPhone story to the iPhone and a new Apple headset couldn’t be more off. The iPhone was literally an iPod and more. Compact, handheld, pocket device. A device people wear on their heads is more comparable to a device people wear on their wrists. An AR headset will not replace the iPhone, like the Apple Watch didn’t replace the iPhone. Or the iPad didn’t replace the laptop.
The iPhone is an every-consumer product. From 12 year olds to 72 years olds. To replace the iPhone you’ll need the masses to adopt. Not just nerds like you and I. And even I am skeptical. I don’t want to lug around a headset on my face everywhere I go. How bulky will it be? I don’t wear glasses, do I want something on my face all the time? That’s asking a lot.
Then there’s pricing. The best selling product Apple sells is their middle-tier phone. 12, 13, 14. And costs around $700. This headset is rumored to be over 1500. Maybe $2000. Nothing over $1000 will replace an iPhone.
It’ll be a niche item.
Yeah, I’ll get one of those headsets, but it’s not gonna replace my iPhone. I’m not gonna be wearing that on my head all day. I need something that can go in my pocket, and I, like most people, work in a field where we can’t be wearing weird shit on our face all day, either because we need to wear PPE, or because our bosses don’t want us on our phones all day. VR/AR isn’t gonna replace the reality of the actual world we live in, and Apple discontinuing the iPhone for any reason would be the dumbest thing they ever did. I wouldn’t be able to stop using a cell phone if I wanted to, and neither could most people.
Edit: and, on that note, how out of touch with everyday life do you have to be think that everyone wearing headsets is actually the future??? Have you ever had a real job? Most of us aren’t even allowed to wear EARBUDS at work, dude. How smart do you think it would be to wear a headset while driving? If it’s supposed to replace my iPhone , what do I do if I need to use maps? Just say, “fuck it, peripheral vision is for pussies”? Are you even thinking about this shit??? If not, you should start.
People don’t feel safe using headphones outside nowadays, who tf would go out with these stupid huge glasses on in public? Not me.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the iphone isn’t going away anytime soon. i do see these goggles competing with games systems. something else to do at home where you’re safe. walking around in public with them on will make you a target.
😀 😃 🙂 👍
I don’t think the headset will replace the iPhone due to the convenience of putting an iPhone in your pocket vs wearing a headset walking down the street. I see people using the headset at home a lot.
Don’t sacrifice the mini!!
I’m really looking forward to getting the iPhone 14 pro max 😎
don’t throw your iphone please. give it to me. i need it. hahaha
Ah yes I can’t wait to leave my iPhone at home while walking/driving around with a weird set of goggles on.
Is there any rumor about a tactile input device that goes with the Apple glass? I’m more curious about apple’s innovation in that field
I want the apple glasses. I’ll probably skip the ar/vr headset.
I would never walk around with a stupid head set on and apple will NEVER stop making an iphone
AR/VR are already dated in my opinion. It’s AR/VR glasses & contact lenses that’ll change the world when finally released to the public. Personally it’s the contact lenses that I wish they’d hurry up with.
