I work with Mitutoyo calipers every day. It’s supposedly more accurate if you measure towards the inside of the jaws due to the outside being more susceptible to bend due of lever forces or whatever it’s called. But likely doesn’t matter if not measuring to micron (0.001mm) levels.

People seem so upset about the repeat design as if the current design is just disgusting to acknowledge. The design is very nice, and I think it’d be difficult to make a major change that is better than what we have now.
