We have to remember this we the people are make them money we are in control. We have a choose to buy are not buy. If we want prices to come down everyone has to not buy and I guaranteed the price will go back down . Their phones probably only cast the about 300.00 to make . Chip shortage is a good way to jack up prices. Everything cast more if there is less of it. Guess it works for them to the less cash they get and the more phones they have made and have to sale because they wanted to sell this much but didn’t are going to have to sell to make something back . Teach them how they got to where they are at .

Samsung have a hard time to get faster chip. A15 bionic is aldready faster enough so its not a big deal to put last iphone chip on a new iphone.
But android chip sucks. So they would not follow the apple idea right? This is seriuos.

Samsung already sells more Ultra from it’s S series range than the other models. If you buy an S phone you go for Ultra. Apple is so expensive people tend to go for the cheaper option. Samsung also sells alot of mid rangers like last year it was the A52s5G that held the crown of top seller. Apple doesn’t offer midrangers so the scenario is different. EVERYONE offers budget friendly variants except for Apple although tbh many people are clueless about that bionic chip lol And some people just like smaller form factor….me I wanna big screen….can’t go back o 6.1 or 6.5 even.

I mean look at this year’s Sammy second top phone….the A13…..not an S series phone but an A series again and those phones already sport an older chipset. We’ll see how this pans out for Apple but I am willing to bet people will still go for the one they can afford. In Europe they’re hideously expensive. Friend of mine got the iPhone 13 Pro with an instalment plan because they are, as I said, hideously expensive and there’s no insurance either. I did the same with my unlocked S21 Ultra but my carrier offers a better plan with the contract.

I understand the chip shortage reason but even an old processor uses silicon wafers the thing in short supply right now. It’s nonsense saying that’s the reason. I think it might be because, as time goes on the cost to make this older hardware goes down, it’s why apple still sells last year’s phones to not have to overhaul the assembly line and to be able to negotiate with the makers or all the parts for a price decrease of the older part, so with the processor they could do that and negotiate with any factories who may produce the parts for it like the transistors. It could also be just the same price either way as they make Thier own chips so it’s just to force ppl who want the latest and greatest to go pro which sucks as at 800 dollars to access apples’s eco system while being latest and greatest u could say is not overpriced. It’s supposed to compete directly with Samsung but now with an older chip ppl might actually switch as now the latest and greatest costs alot more and if Samsung doesn’t follow apple on this and avoids controversy they might be able to scoop up some more customers from apple, however apple is also about quality and status symbol and some people just don’t care what’s inside thier phone as long as it looks good on the outside like an apple logo and unique cosmetic feature of the iphone 14, if they make it look the same like last years iphone while yes alot of ppl would go pro, some ppl would also go to another brand.
