Basically the regular 14 models are just a rebranded iPhone 13. If people buy that they’re stupid.

if we see the new a16 chip using a new process node, its makes the performance claims slightly more believable. If we take a look at m1 to m2 generational leap, apple suggests that m2 is 35% more powerful than m1. max tech shared leaked performance benchmarks the other day about m2 actually seeing 40 -45 percent improvements in GPU. these tests included astec ruins high teir ETC… considering that apple didn’t change the node this year or change the cores to much, its likely a 3nm chip (A16) will provide huge upgrades. all apple did for m2 was add ddr5 ram, increase L1 L2 and L3 cache sizes and increase the core clock by 10%. looks like the ddr5 ram in m2 has made a huge difference.

based on performance from AMD integrated graphics chips, ddr4 speeds make a huge difference when it comes to their APU line up. paring an APU with 2000mhz ram will make for a slow chip but using overclocked dr4 4000mhz ram increases the performance by huge margins, we might be seeing the same bump in performance here with apples A16 and M2 chips even if A16 keeps the 5nm node around for another year. apples DDR5 ram in the MBP 14&16 runs at a blisteringly fast 6400mhz. m2 also uses this same speed, could A16 also have 6400mhz ram? its likely, this is due to ddr5 actually using less power than ddr4 at a higher clock speed. this efficiency gain could also improve the battery life of the device but only by a small margin.

Big fan of your content… I like watching even it’s a topic I am only mildly interested in because you’re very entertaining. Sooooo… I’m leaving a comment that I generally hate seeing whether it’s on my channel or a content creator I appreciate (and I might be in the minority), but I really liked the previous look and feel of your set with the moody lighting and the old theme song and animated intro. And your traditional “fpt” self mocking intro is always fun. That being said, I get it. As a content creator, you’re always looking for ways to improve your set either in the effort to make a nicer more professional presentation for the audience or simply to make it fresh for yourself. Maybe you get tired of seeing certain things in your own videos. Either way, I respect and appreciate the changes you feel you need to make as you go forward and will miss the now antiquated presentation.

I think Apple would do this:

– iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max with the A16 Chip.

– iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with the A16 Pro Chip.
