@MKBHD good review, but it definitely should have been mentioned at some point that apples repair policy is getting worse with every phone. This phone has software locks to prevent anyone else than apple to repair this. Fuck the paper on the phone, this won’t save the environment! green washed bullshit. Sad to see no big youtuber is pointing this out.

Went from OnePlus 7 Pro to iPhone 13 Pro and was completely underwhelmed. Returned it back to Apple after a week.

My short-term assessment of the 13 Pro Max is the video in daylight is incredible in all lenses. It goes south considerably in the dark in the extra wide, semi useable, and tele, not useable at distance. Standard lens is pretty good at night, but I’m still figuring it out, checking extra apps.

So far, for me, the cinematic mode is not great, because it’s stuck in 1080p, and that video looks ragged when shot in public. Cinematic mode in moderately low light, like in a mall, is really not good at all. Maybe in a studio environment its acceptable, but it’s a giant bummer it’s not a 4k option.

The 12mp is a major pisser for me. I can’t believe Apple has not upped the game to 20mp. It reallly makes me angry on the stills, no matter how much better the color balance etc is. The detail is just limited.

Plusses? The audio quality in the video and voice memos is astounding. The battery is unbelievable. I spent three hours last night sporadically (every ten minutes) shooting pictures and video, and the battery went down like 20%. It’s just fricking bonkers.

Once you get used to the screen and refresh, the minute you go back to your old phone, it looks like a dinosaur. For older people who need reading glasses, this thing is MARKEDLY more readable!
