As a for profit tech company, apple is not incentivized to improve their iPhone drastically year by year.
That being said, the increase in battery life is probably the most underrated improvement for this year’s phone.

I think reason why many people didn’t notice a difference is because iPhone’s 60hz is already way smoother than most phones. I’ve been using high refresh rate Oneplus phones since years and currently have a Oneplus 9 Pro with 120hz screen. And then I recently also got an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I literally don’t notice the difference in refresh rate while switching between phones. Whereas if I put my OP 9 Pro on 60hz mode or use any other Android phone with 60hz display,they immediately feel much sluggish and slower.

As always, great review. Every time a new phone comes out I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it. I ended up getting the 13 Pro and have been enjoying it thoroughly so far, especially the battery life, ProMotion display and the new camera system. Keep up the awesome work.

“This feels like a pretty big upgrade disguised in the same design as last year” … It’s been amusing and disappointing to see the lengths some reviewers are going to try and justify the fact that is a disappointing, not worth upgrading to release. Get your heads out of Apple’s ass and put some demand to get better innovation for their expensive gadgets. Should we not expect or demand better from Apple than these “upgrades” that reviewers twist themselves into explaining?

So I bought a one plus 7t specifically for the 90hrtz screen. At first I could not notice the difference. I had to send my phone back to oneplus for a repair and had to go back to my s9. I missed the display. So I can say that letting them get used to the 13, then give them a 12 or 11 would get you the response you want.
