I am surprised and disappointed that Apple, a company that makes smartphones with one of the best, if not the best performing cameras, doesn’t improve on their zoom capability with technologies that have been readily available on the market, and installed by various other manufacturers, for years. 2 or 3 x the optical zoom that iPhone sports (correct me if I’m wrong but I couldn’t be far out) is abysmal in the year 2021.
By now we are all aware of the fact the Apple doesn’t lead when it comes to installing new technologies on their phones, and are often behind many companies in that department.. We also know that Apple takes its time and perfects these features to the point that they end up the best on the market while working flawlessly. But the periscope technology, that provides the phone with an incredible zoom-in capabilities, has been around for years, and Apple should have included it in this year Pro models. But hey, who am I to consult the most valuable company in the world that once again broke their income records in the last 12 months by selling more iPhones than ever….

I don’t agree with your choice to deliberately bring in the cinematic mode to a closer shot than your normal video. They rarely in their ads get that close, and it’s makes it looks like the iPhone Pro Max video capabilities in general are total garbage. Nice for clicks, but bad for realism. I do at least appreciate that late into the video you show more realistic examples that show the benefits and limitations.

I upgraded from the 12 mini to the 13 mini specifically for longevity. I’m worried that it’s gonna be a long, long time before Apple makes another tiny phone, and with one year of extra life, I’m gonna keep it as long as it will survive.

Battery life has been crazy for me. Unplugged at 10am at 100%. Plugged it in again at 40% around 3pm THE NEXT DAY
