I’m all in on iPhone 13 Pro. Promotion is the feature that got me to upgrade from my beloved 12 mini (and no Apple, you can’t have it back lol). Obviously I don’t have the phone yet, but I’m a bit confused. It’s so unlike Apple to make a design change like shrinking the width of the notch with no functional benefit. I understand the importance of software redundancy, but Apple was okay making iPhone 11/11 pro the only phones where you could change the video res/fps in the camera app (I know that’s changed now but it was a thing). And Apple’s okay with limiting other certain features to certain phones or even models. So why can’t we get the battery percentage back in the top status bar area, if we so choose, on iPhone 13? Why can’t we have the do not disturb icon back in the top status bar area? There’s enough room on these new phones. And finally, if we’re getting no functional benefit of a shrunken notch, why did we need to do this and actually lose usable screen real estate by increasing the height of the notch, albeit by some few pixels? That status bar area is now visibly taller (i know, i’ve been staring at iPhone displays with Face ID too long, but that is the first thing I noticed in these reviews). If anything, that one change costs more than it benefits, and changing for change’s sake is not an Apple move.

Personally I’m going to avoid pro motion for as long as possible. I have a 2017 iPad Pro and can’t use it for more than 20 minutes before feeling sick, scrolling feels blurry and unnaturally smooth to me. Which is strange because I use a 120hz computer monitor and feel fine

Rene, if you happen to do another iOS 15 video, can you please mention something (if you agree that it is worthy of a mention)? I know Apple takes your feedback seriously. Why can’t we, in Safari, move the address bar back to the top AND get the swipe feature to swipe between tabs and create a new tab? I understand the argument that the address bar being below makes it easy to swipe while using a phone with one hand, but the pro and pro max are large enough that most people are using two hands. I wonder if the limitation imposed on bringing the address bar back to the top causing a user to lose those precious swipe gestures is Apple’s way of nudging a user in the direction of using the address bar at the bottom. It feels like an unnecessary limitation. I understand Apple doesn’t want to make things too complicated for the user who wants it back the ‘old’ way, but it’s not like having that functionality there will be more complex for that user.

Who the hell is using lighting accessories!?!? If apple could drop the headphone jack something that ppl really used, how come they can’t ditch lighting? In the grand scheme of things they can’t be making THAT much money off ⚡️

One of the first reviews that mentions the high trade in value. I do believe the upgrades are pretty decent…but the trade in of my 12 Pro Max is 790 plus the 3% in cash back from Apple Card. So while I don’t “need” the upgrade…why would I not upgrade to the 13 Pro Max for close to 300 bucks.

TouchID doesn’t make sense in a phone. Most people put theirs in a case. Many of those cover the power button. The juice ain’t worth the squeeze unless you rock yours nude.
