Why to make the mini just .2 mm thick and give it only a little boost in battery. Who even notices the difference if u make it .7 or .8mm thick and give an extra big battery. On such a small phone no one cares.

I’m torn on these releases. On the one hand, it makes sense that technology would be incrementally updated over time, so releasing a new iphone makes sense. But so much of our technology industry is pushing planned and perceived obsolescence, which destroys our environment, and the hype around annual releases is part of. While Apple does have good software support, they push physical obsolescence hard by making repairs difficult, and the immense amount of hype they make around their releases drives consumption. It’s so frustrating, I wish we had technology that was sustainable, upgradable, and ran free software, so I could get excited without worrying about the environmental effects.
