Finally after 2 months a new version of iOS 15 is out, but I highly doubt, that there will be a iOS 15.7, because the development of iOS 16 is struggling and around the corner. Maybe a 15.7 version will be available much later for older devices, which would not receive iOS 16 like the iPhone 6S (Plus) or 7 (Plus).

Sounds like everything is all good with iOS 15.6. I just finished installing it on my devices and it did not take very long at all. I am anxious to see if your predictions on the final release for this update cycle. Hopefully you are correct which you are most of the time. I am looking forward to iOS 16 in September. After you started talking about the devices that will not support iOS 16 in the fall, I predict the iPhone 8 models along with the iPhone X iPhone XS and iPhone XR models will not support iOS 17.
