Dream computer
I know what it is. Apple likes control so much that they double the price. It’s the only way they could cope with users upgrading storage and putting cards in their perfect product 😂
Is it possible that the “computer part” of the case is easily swappable for a new one? In that case they could offer upgrades in the future for current customers. It would be cool if an entire M2 Ultra or future M3 could be swapped in, and you could pass on the old parts. That would make it more appealing.
The sheep calling the sheep sheep 🐑😂
Is this the first six slot Mac since the 9600? I think it might be.
🌟✨🤛
Totally Dumb🤦🏻♂️
apple is overpriced junk
I worked somewhere that had a return $10k apple server type computer come through my work in about 2012. That was even more cheddar back then. Just for that apple logo. I wonder if the circular campus really is a ufo they have the $ for it.
lol 8,000 and people are hating saying that nobody is gonna buy the vision pro due to price. brother let me tell you something, we apple cultists dont give a fk about price.
Like many comments here have already stated: Those PCIE card bays are the reason for this machine to exist because they are a must for serious music studios, tv-studios etc. This is why the previous PRO was built and it is still in good use today. There are still soooo many special demands by pro environments. This a machine is to fill those needs. The idea that you would actually need this for your home is borderline insane. This is not meant for that. This is for mission critical uses. I fail to see how hard it is to understand.
I see your point but for somebody who works in video and audio production this thing can work what I’m curious about is could I hook that up with the studio in Ceres and basically make the biggest super computer Apple has ever made I don’t know I gotta consider it and think about it it is a lot of money to buy both
Does there psu have plugs for the pcie cards???
the mac pro has failed us
1. Even Apple has limited resources. I think people don’t appreciate the technical challenge of switching from Intel and creating their own chip architecture.
2. People talk about an Extreme chip, two Ultras stuck together, it’s not that simple to do.
3. Apple needed to complete the transaction to Apple Silicon. This is a compromise to get there sooner than later.
4. Trying to build memory and GPU expansion with the unified memory architecture of Apple Silicon is difficult if not impossible.
5 From a business perspective, only 10% of Apple revenue came Mrs from Mac sales. The Mac Pro is a niche product. To satisfy Wall Street, Apple needs to focus on high volume, high revenue products.
6. People needing super high performance and multi-terabyte RAM might be best served sticking with an Intel solution.
7. Apple may be totally ok with ceding the super high performance market to Intel/AMD.
Hi Luke, I can follow the argument you put here,. But for me, as a music studio owner, PCIe is important to have the soundcards (avid HDX) into the machine AND ,something some people forget with the MAC Pro 2023, I use the second LAN port also to add sound equipment (AVB compatible). On the Mac Studio there’s only one LAN port. If you need a secondary on the Mac Studio you’ll have to connect 2 adapters to make it work. But you are right the new MacPro is expensive, but way not as expensive as the full blown 2019 version (+50.000Eur)which beats it by far. so in the end everyone wins 🙂
So bro. Thinks the trash can is more expandable? I had over 22 of the trash cans, they are no we’re near as expandable is the new Mac Pro. My use case, healthcare and defense industry.
Well you are spending the additional $3k on the industrial art. Machine beauty.
Apple have totally lost the high performance game with Silicon. Can’t even put the latest SSD and memory in it letalone take advantage of gen5 over the next few years of ownership, can’t even keep up with a year old 13900K either in almost all tasks and it’s Apple so you’ll be paying the devil more for less interoperability, less expandability, basically less everything than X86 systems costing the same or considerably less that still outperform.
Shoot, since the new M2 chips don’t have any kind of cooling issue, I say its time to bring back the trashcan Mac Pro but this time without the throttling/shutdown issues.
Eugh!!! Isheep E-waste in a nice box? 😉
