I own a 2015 4K iMac and I’m glad I have one. This Mac Pro is probably overpriced for most people.

I think it has more to do with “Repairability”. The “Right-to-Repair”. When the SSD or logic board fails you want to be able to Replace it or Recover your Data. After all your Data is your most important stuff on the computer.

Video and audio engineering, CAD, etc. The boards for this thing dont exist, because there was zero use case. Now that there is a machine to put the boards in, Apple is hoping they’d be developed. This machine is a year out from being worthwhile.

Got 26 seconds in to this vid and had to stop … Whilst the CPU on the base config might be more powerful than a 2019 maxed out Mac Pro, there’s no option for GPU expansion, so the 2019 Mac Pro is far, far more powerful in terms of GPU performance.

Hey Luke, do you think that later on you could upgrade this Mac Pro by ordering a new logic board with M3 Ultra or M4 Ultra chips and just plug it into the chassis? So you could upgrade your Mac Pro without having to spend $7000 on the whole unit every couple years. That is the only reason I could see this making sense for me using Blackmagic Video cards.

im really disappointed by price difference in US an my country, base model mac pro costs here (Poland) as much as mac pro in US with maxed out ram and m2 chip:(
