This video didn’t need to exist. It’s obvious it’s not the same product it used to be. Given the “pro” title, it basically exists as the business expense machine where there is no substitute for expansion.

Mac Pro had to evolved since apple introduced new products like the max studio and iMac Pro years ago. If they were going to keep the Mac Pro the top of the line they made it into a product that is really for professionals. It always was a niche product in the last decade as their laptops became more powerful.

the issue with ading sound cards . there are litterally no HDX cards out yet and you could also get an encloser with more ports for cheaper . its very sad about the mac pro its utter trash

Definitely looks like a stop gap product product for Apple to say they fully transitioned away from Intel. I would not be surprised if this product is killed off completely and they focus more on the Mac Studio entirely!

I think they should half the size of the whole thing and still allow some expansion beyond the mac studio. And also allow the ability of AMD/nvidia cards somehow. I know Apple and Nvidia have their fight probably still going on but giving the option of another discrete card would be great.

Well, the high bandwidth bus is obviously far more efficient than USB-C or even lightning, so there are a number of hardware applications I can think of that would make this a very good solution.

Luke clearly doesn’t understand the purpose of professional equipment. Audio and video pros need PCIE expansion, that’s why the Mac Pro exists. This is one of Luke’s very worst videos to date. Woooof.
