Hey Josh, should I get a M1 MacBook Pro 14 with 1tb SSD and 16gb ram or M2 MacBook Pro 14 with 512 SSD and 16gb ram? I am Computer Science student.
Really glad you’ve uploaded this video Josh! I listened to your recommendation for the S23 and I am extremely pleased with it!
Really need a laptop too as I gave mine away and so I’ll be sure to give this a go!
Appreciate you and your honest helpful advice as always 🙂
Love your reviews
Will you review yoga 7i and 9i 2023 versions?
I have last year’s model, and the only issue I have is the screen not turning off when I close the lid, and sleep often refuses to wake back up (requiring a full reboot)
The Macbooks are starting to look cheap compared to these lumps of plastic
Cool! This laptop is gorgeous. But at this price, g14 it’s more interesting.
Why no zenbook reviews 😭
PC laptops will shine after Intel starts to produce 3 micron semiconductors. I do not understand the wisdom of using inefficient 10 microns processors in high end mobile laptops.
How does this compare to Asus ZenBook Flip 14 OLED with 13th Gen Intel?
Its ridiculous laptop reviews do not include performance ON BATTERY, I believe this is the most important metric since these are designed to be PORTABLE. You cannot say this is comparable to an M1 air since the M1 air does not change performance on battery, while this? I am sure it does.
The OLED display should be 120Hz
The headphone jack should be put to the side, and that spot should mirror the other side; having another Type-C port, which supports charging (in fact both should be TB4 in 2023 for a premium laptop)
The SoC should be AMD U series Phoenix 😢
Worthy video!

I give up last year model and switch to yoga 9i because its PWM Flicker. I hope the PWM frequency are higher than last year model
HP makes shit laptops. The touchpad on my ENVY x13 would get stuck on the bottom and you’d need to push it hard to unstick it. Drove me crazy. I sold it.
Im sorry, but ultraportables equipped with 12th or 13th generation Intel CPUs have too many significant issues. They either suffer from severe underperformance in the case of U-series processors or are prone to excessive throttling and loud fan noise and useless battery like. It would be wiser to consider investing in an older 6-core Ryzen 5 5600U laptop, which performs admirably at a half the cost compared to Intel’s offerings that require a minimum of ~60 watts to achieve reasonable performance.
Thank you Josh for your real life reviews of laptops. Fan noise is such an annoyance and you are the best at taking a serious look into these kinds issues. You nailed it with your point about U series processors being much better choices for thin and light laptops than either P or H series, while many PC manufacturers seem in denial of such an obvious conclusion.
I have been looking through your channel for laptops reviews and I have to say I am thankful I found it.
But I would like to ask if you have witnessed anything like purchase inconvenience or anything of sorts that may affect you from getting a laptop? Cause in my experience specific brands void your warranty if you try to even upgrade your ram or storage unless you go to a service center which in my case can be a city away which is a hassle, and this goes for non gaming laptops. This has led me to personally not choose specific brand in searching for laptops.
Currently thinking of buying a laptop and I have checked your previous video (recommended laptops for programmers) for suggestions yet I wish to ask, do you not recommend the Legion Slim 7/ 7i 8th gen or the previous generation? From the review you provided month prior it sounded like a really solid choice.
I hope that you will review the gen 8 versions cause from what I have read from their website they seem to have upgraded things you have mentioned would have been preferred back in the gen 7 model (I could be wrong here), but at the same time makes me wonder what compromises have they made. Thanks for reading and love the videos!
