When production does ramp, given this thing’s inevitable demand, prepare to find a ton of basically new/used dinosaur powered F150s for cheap. Probably a great chance to get a new/demo one as well for a deal

Ive always said to people that if i were to ever get a truck. I would have been a toyota tacoma because they do everything relatively well without being huge. I may change that because of everything the F150 Lightning offers.

I have zero interest in a pickup truck, or a ute, as we call them in Australia. I drive a 4WD van. I want lots of covered interior space. However this is the most relevant and exciting electric car I’ve seen thus far for my needs. And it would suffice. Although I’d like an option with a little bit of an optional on board petrol generator – you’re at a work site and your power tools (or your holiday cabin in the woods) have flattened drive battery and you’re stranded. Running a built in generator for awhile to top up the battery would be a nice option. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has this sort of functionality, but it’s battery is 1/10th the size I think so a very different vehicle.

I think that one of the limiting factors of this truck will be the range. There are electric trucks out now with better range and horsepower, such as the Rivian R1T, and there will be better ones to come. Although Ford really did try to make this truck worthy, for 90,000 dollars, I would hold off.

I love it I Just. Need. More. Range.

Remote job sites don’t have power and I often tow something there and back. Excited for the potential but hope range increases soon or they release a hybrid. (Tbh we’ve been asking for a hybrid truck for years now)
