I just don’t see this being a long term contender unless they change the design. The point of an EV is to conserve energy, and a big honking truck is not aerodynamic nor does it use energy efficiently. To get range on this thing, you’re gonna have to use bigger and bigger batteries unless battery technology improves, and even then, it just makes sense to put that better battery in a more aerodynamic chassis.

After all, what’s the point of switching to electric if you’re overspending on the amount you need to charge the thing to go fewer miles?

90 grand? I have a full loaded 4X4 f-150 and it was 30k less than this “lightning”. Forget that, not gonna pay 30k extra for a truck that is not capable of going off roading, last time I checked there are not charging stations in the woods of desert. As for the outlets and backing up the power on my house, mine has all the same features. And is 30K less, no thanks.

why are none of these new ev’s not coming with solar panels to charge their battery, id rather had a solar panel on the roof than a sun roof.
