I’ve got the base model midnight M2, and so far I’m in love with this computer. Fingerprints have not bothered me at all after two weeks of use (I noticed them on day one but have mostly forgotten about them since), and I’ve not run into any issues with the 256gb storage. I never pushed my M1 MacBook Air to its limits by any stretch of the imagination, so while there probably are shortcomings for the slower memory for some users, it is not something that will likely ever affect my typical use needs.

*Costco’s sells the M1 Macbook Air for $1199 for a 512SSD M1 which is still cheaper then the M2 with the same amount of Storage but saves ya money. M1 Air is still $949 also and not too mention Costco’s puts them on sell for pretty AMAZING discounts*

The macbook air is designed for casual users, I think if youre saying dont get the base model and upgrade the storage to 512, then youre probably going to say also double the RAM since it isnt much more, and at that point, just get a macbook pro.

I find it’s strange that you want to upgrade the ssd to get faster ssd speed for only memory swap, why don’t u just upgrade to 16Gb ram then if you can only upgrade one thing?
Dont you put the cart before the horse??
At least you can always use ext storage, but you can do this to ram

I got the base model and does everything I need it to do. I have a decked gaming pc if I ever needed more power. If you upgrade more often than usual the base model is fine lol.

Yes, the M1 is attractive price wise but what about the longevity of it – support and operating system upgrade wise? Is the M2 more future proof? What is that worth (for someone that would like to keep computer a while)?

I have been using my 2010 imac for a long time and surely it still running like a champ. But i need a laptop for my portable work now and just order MBA M2 16GB/512GB Mid Night edition. The reason why you guy still see finger print on mid night is because it suppose to be used at mid night and no light lol

it is nice to see people are starting to understand what apple have been saying since the introduction of the first ipad.
the iPad is a separate thing from the iPhone and the mac, and it is NOT supposed to replace the mac.
for some reason people seem to have misunderstood the “what is a computer” ad campaign and had this blind, bandwagony focus on “can the iPad replace your computer” question and totally missed what is the iPad is.
