Would the 256gb model be good for me if I want it for travel watching mostly movies/ browsing the web and photo editing I really like the Apple eco system so I know I want a MacBook just don’t know what one to get

I got the base storage with upgraded ram and processor and have yet to have any issues. YouTubers transfer large files, most other people do not.

It’s 2022 but still Apple wanna fool us with crappy marketing by offering 8gb ram and 256gb ssd to justify the $$$ premium paid for 16gb ram and 512 gb ssd.

Just bought the base M2 MacBook Air – super happy! For coding and benign compiling, this is such nice machine to work on! I’m happy to tradeoff the (somewhat) slower read and write speed for the new design – which is amazing!

most people won’t be able to pay that extra for the storage and ram upgrade sooo in all thus laptop is still better than so many other laptops in the price range also people talking about the fingerprints problem… maybe clean your wands? I don’t know how people get such gross and oily hands even when I’m working a physical job hands are much cleaner that people on a desk job

If you don’t care about the extra GPU cores and already have an external HD or Ample cloud space then the best thing to do is get the M2 Air with just an upgraded 16GB RAM and you are sorted. That’s what I’m doing this labour day since there’s $100 discount. May even get upto $300 for my current macbook so new M2 under a grand!

I needed this laptop for work, I don’t run heavy programs nor do editing or store pictures. The only reason I purchased this computer is because my M1 MacBook Air, the batter got swollen and I had to get it replaced, the turnout around time to fix it was 7-10 business days minimum. I couldn’t be without a laptop for that long, and since I already have the M1 chip I might as well get the M2 chip. I had the M1 model for about 3-4 years before I decided to get it fixed. So if you don’t really wanna spend more than 1.5k (warranty included) like they said purchase the M1 model, its a hell of a computer. I am still going to keep the old MacBook Air once I get it back from getting it fixed. Even though the battery is shot, the computer itself works great. But tbh I really like the basic M2 model, it allows me to do whatever I need to do and allows me to work great. I legit love it and it works for me and the fact I don’t to plug it in to be able to use it, feels pretty good.

whats disgusting is m1 air didnt drop in price eventhough m2 air came out. kinda forces u to buy a m2 air just because the m1 didnt drop in price as u cant justify paying full price for a 2 year old device

I really feel like this M2 MBA is a turd. Too many sacrifices for too much money. If they would have 16g RAM in the base model for the same money I think it would be an easier pill to swallow.
