I need 64gb variant for photoshop
Open up Lightroom and you’re close to swapping with 32 GB 🙃
I just got the 64GB one – I’m getting to 36.75 GB right now of Memory Used.
would this be applicable for the M1 Pro 32gb spec’d option as well or not at all?
Brilliant video summarizing everything super fast, I seriously can’t think of much more to really throw at it seeing this and other videos testing 32 vs 64. Honestly if anyone is stuck deciding or is getting buyers remorse while waiting for their laptop … This video says it all. Swap and caching is so fast and smart, it just handles it all perfectly to the 64.
Get 2TB SSD and 32GB unless you’re in Hollywood doing incredibly detailed 60GB CGI renders … Even then, your renders would only be like 15%+ slower if you kept 32GB. These machines are insane, Apple really did something great this time. Steve Jobs would be proud.
Yeah, this made up my mind. Awesome video.
Load up a huge Logic Pro project with like 100 Omnispheres and maybe 100 Uhe Divas and let me know how it works s I’m on the fence as well!
Question I have is did you see any stuttering in system animations and transitions while you were maxing out the RAM? For me, on the 16gb Mac Mini M1, running dual displays (5k/4k) I run into those slight glitches often. (I’m OCD when it comes to that stuff)
Thanks. Your reasoning makes sense. A credit to Apple’s memory management for making this possible.
Thank you for this. Been looking for this 16″ 32GB vs 64GB comparison. It seems like the 32 did work harder swapping data around. Was there a difference in battery consumption?
https://youtu.be/0ywV-d9xgzc here… he maxed out his 64GB with 8k editing. MacBook gave him a warning that the MacBook run out of memory.
Longevity of the SSD in the 64GB will long outlast the 32GB. Unnecessary writes to the SSD to cache the memory will tax the system storage memory way more than it would ever impact the DRAM memory. DRAM is meant to work in that way, SSD memory is not. If the system works as intended you never would notice a hiccup between the two. It’s what happens in the background and the taxing on the system you won’t initially notice.
I see you running all sorts and the memory is still green. I have the 16″ M1 Max 32 and when I use Lightroom and Photoshop I’m in the yellow and at 28 ish gb. Why would that happen?
Good videos but in order to “destroy “ you should have used a unreal engine project that required more performance instead the demo which runs in a cheap toaster.
what are hell))))) it’s craze case))!!
Could you tell me if 3ds max 2022-2023 works without restrictions in Parallels?
Hi Bro can you check this test with 16gb m1 Pro vs 32gb m1 Pro ?)
