On a previous video of yours, I mentioned the Enduro 2 being my Garmin favorite watch but the 51mm Epix Pro is now my favorite. Amazing that a watch with that screen and features has the same battery life as my Fenix 6X. Too bad about the price tag 🙁
I’m rotating my left hand between the 7x & enduro 2 😂it’s a battle who goes on the hand
Whilst the right hand I’m not the biggest Apple user but damn that AWU works like a charm always on my right hand that’s right Apple has the best smart watch plus LTE🤔
Last vid I said nothing garmin can do to make me buy a another watch
Epix pro 51mm lol dammnit that sweet oled display plus light 😅
Haha nice try garmin my wallet is saved ☺️😄
Great vid btw 👍👏
Hi, I hv been using FR945 for last over 3 yrs & Apple watch 7 for over one & half yrs. The information, FR946 provides is awesome compared to Apple watch. Apple watch doesn’t provide barometer reading. 3rd party apps are totally inaccurate & unreliable for barometer reading wherein FR945 provides almost correct pressure. Hv compered barometer/elevation for over two weeks. I believe, with Garmin watch, one can predict weather through observation of pressure change.
FR945 provides aerobic & anaerobic effect, no of counts of weight, push ups, squats, or any repeat exercise which are missing with Apple watch. FR945’s Body battery & sleep scores are brilliant. I have observed that if you do an exercise before going to bed or have alcohol late in evening, the next day, your body battery wouldn’t charge properly & your sleep score would be reduced than a normal day. Apple is totally missing on this feature.
I believe Apple watch still in generation-1 wherein Garmin is at gen-4 or 5 especially with fitness features.
Despite my love for Garmin, I must admit that using Garmin as well as Apple watch just confuses me more & more. After a week of using FR945, I get bored & then use apple watch 7 & keep repeating😅 . This left my FR945 without adequate data for the period I use apple watch.
Thank you ❤.
Good video but the battery part should have been extended. Apple watch is 3 day at max. With alway on screen off. The epic pro has up to 31 days . It’s not double the time. Not even by a long run
So far, I prefer Garmin over Apple Watch, because AW don’t have a quality map on screen when I am mounteering, like Garmin (Fenix 6X Pro) yet!
Next fall I heard it was coming Apple Watch Ultra, with brand new watch OS, we will be wait, and seen what happened, and what will be buoyed?!
It’s driving me mad I don’t know what to do 😂 I currently have an Apple Watch 7 and don’t know whether to upgrade to an AWU 2 when they come out or change and go to garmin epix pro 🤷🏻♂️
The lag in the run pace at races on AW is what is so frustrating
I finally found a channel that is not apple fan boy and does a proper honest review, thanks a lot 😏👏🙋♂
I don’t believe you mentioned AW ultra has cellular and Garmin does not during connectivity. That is a bit of a big difference.
For swimming, I use the FORM Smart Goggles! The one and only deal breaker with Garmin for me is no cellular connectivity. I love that people can call my watch and I just answer with my Shockz headphones. Worth every penny!
I had been looking into garmin watches for a long time (maybe about 2 years). IMO its what you are used too. If you are an apple person then the ultra is for you. I got the ultra on the first release date and i loved it until the point that even 3 day battery life is sometimes not enough and maybe thats just me not remembering to charge it😂. About a month ago i finally caved in and got the fenix7x sapphire solar and although it was a good watch , it wasn’t an Apple Watch ultra. I returned it and appreciated my ultra more then before because it gave me the answer that i needed.
A couple times now I have tried to like Garmin watches, first with a Fenix 6 Pro and then recently with an Epix Gen 2. Both times Garmin let me down big time with sleep tracking. It’s so bad for me it’s basically unusable, and due to that it made scores like Body Battery or Training Readiness absolutely pointless. So until Garmin manages to figure out sleep tracking, I’ll have to stick with Apple.
As yo said, the AWU for water sports is a nightmare, plus the need to buy third party apps to do what the Garmin out of the box was a no go for me and I returned it after a week. The only thing missing to the Garmin lineup is cellular connectivity. Once they add this (fingers crossed), it will be pretty much a no brainer to go with Garmin IMO.
What I really miss on Garmin is an audible connection. I like listening to audiobooks when I workout.
Thanks for this breakdown! Epix watch face at 2:45?
Yeah track detection still amazes me on the Apple watch. I’ve used 4 different tracks and it gets the lane numbers spot on. Like how in the world do they know? 😂
finally Garmin will be sport watch and Apple Watch will be good for both of smart watch and sport watch
Because apple will upgrade their software nearly Garmin but Garmin can’t be a good smart phone
Because of eco system of phone is not easy for garmin to do like this.
Hi, Great comparaison. I would really love that both could compete so that customer benefit from it but feel like the smart watch side is not a fair figth on IOS with limiting connectivity options to others than Apple. On the fitness aspect everything is open. If Apple want ANT+ they can.
Let’s hope Apple pushes all the others to step up and innovate 🤞🏿Thanks for the breakdown Matt
Just sent my AWU back and slapped my Garmin back on. AWU is still a toy. You need subscriptions to get like half of the info the Garmin gives you for free basically but then can’t even run a 2h run and listen to music at the same time because the battery will die halfway through. The action button is useless most of the time and try to use a touchscreen when you sweat like pig after a hard workout. Or try to exactly time a swim when you have to unlock the screen prior to any action. The Garmin I can use without even looking at. The AW I need special gloves or remove them from my hands just to use it outside in winter. Apple should give the AWU a real battery and make it an actual „ultra“ watch with button nav. Imho the AWU is too expensive for what it really is.
My two cents: the AWU is a high class smart watch with the basics in sport and the Garmin is a high class sports watch with like the most basic smart watch features.
