Can you find out why the M1 Macs cannot run Bootcamp when it does Rosetta 2 really well? I know that M!1 mac does not have intel CPU so it cannot do Bootcamp, but isn’t Rosetta 2 basically a Bootcamp2? Rosetta 2 emulates all the x86 codes to let you run intel mac apps on the M1 macs. If it can emulate x86 codes so well, why can’t it emulate windows 10 OS’s x86 codes and in essense become Bootcamp 2? It just seems like Rosetta 2 is a Bootcamp 2

The video render time at t=6:38 is incorrectly reported as 60% faster. M1 MBP 8:18 is ~60% of the Intel MBP 13:12. In other words ~40% faster, not ~60% faster. Other percent differences are also off.

What about peripheral support/compatibility? Does the M1 Macs print to your current printer, connects to your scanner and scans, workd with your 3D printer, etc. I love that the M1 Macs are so much faster than before, but how about compatibility to peripherals I own? Do I need new drivers to print to my printer? PLease let us know.

If apple hear you call their apple M1 compatible apps “Universal apps” one more time they will copyright your videos. It’s a seamless experience across devices, but as God is our witness will never be universal. 😉

Not an Apple guy. But when I saw the M1 unveiling I knew it was something huge. Anti-Apple people dismissing it were either biased or technologically illeterate.

Never had a Mac & haven’t used one since 1998 in school lol. But honestly would serious consider it after this.

Surface Pro X has double the battery life to Intel laptops. Apple aren’t the first, but you wrote off the Surface Pro X so I guess forgot about it 🤔

No boot camp
No eGpu support
No windows virtualization

If you need any of these things the M1 is Not for you …Yet

Great review (as always), And I’m impressed… Not particularly an Apple fan (have to use an iMac for work), but if they provide this level of upgrade to the Macbook Pro 16, this could be an incredibly viable alternative to the Dell XPS 17…

In fact, been waiting on Dell to ditch Intel for an AMD version.
Still think that would be a mind-blowing upgrade.

Too bad the design didn’t change at all. Those bezels look big compared to other laptops. It looks ancient next to the XPS 13
