They are still overpriced and they still thermal throttle so you’re not getting that much power anyway. What you should really do is run them for an hour at 100% cpu and see how much performance you lose

I don’t know why they make such a big deal about it let’s face it the last Mac was not that quick anyway. So these new ones are going to be quicker. try comparing them with a Amd 4600h and that is a chip that cost a fraction of what they want.

Everybody knows Intel chips always thermal throttle a lot because they are not very good chips so they wouldn’t have to try hard to beat one of those, it’s like comparing a horse against the donkey

Thank you for you video, but I think you should also put a little emphasis on the price as well. Because I think you’re comparing the base M1 model against the i7 model? Which costs 40-50% more than the M1 depending on the configuration. That’s worth noting IMO

Apple flexing their chip making capabilities. This is actually so good and this coming from an Apple skeptic. But we’ll have to see as time passes by how good it actually is or how “improved” the 2nd generation is gonna be. Intel might catch up with tigerlake

What an exciting little computer! Comparable performance to Xe graphics and similar CPU performance to Ryzen 4000 (slightly better single core, slightly worse multi core). 13″ Macs are finally competitive again for performance instead of just a fashion/status symbol.

Not hating. But the M1 has the same performance as the Ryzen 4500. The only difference is that it saves more battery.
Still very impressive nevertheless

I find it odd that 3D games do so well while Civilisation VI, on lowest settings is terrible.
