Doubting wether to buy the 8gb or 16gb macbook pro for daily use. I don’t use video editing or anything but I’m afraid 8gb will not be sufficient enough in the future. Which one to choose?!

This looks so nice but if you make music wait until all your plugins and audio interfaces are compatible with Big Sur / M1 ! My UAD audio interface is not yet compatible so I can’t switch just yet!

It would be fun to have 4 iOS apps in Iohone size window running like tidal Bloomberg news and a iOS game and surfing on a large monitor
How does it work with 8GB

It is only revolutionary if it is seamless (software and hardware wise) with the iphone and ipad pro. If I can’t easily transfer my 4k iphone videos to the MacBook it is cool but I won’t be in. I need to record a 2 hr 4k vidieo on my iphone and transfer to Mac in minutes rather than hours with no conversion.

As a person who wants to buy a new laptop, I’d like to see more of Macbook vs Windows laptop comparison and not just Old Macbook vs New Macbook Comparisons! Obviously the new macbook will be faster than the old one! Also when anything is optimized it will obviously run faster, it remains to be seen if developers optimize especially for the New M1 chips

Q: Can you connect 2 x 4k monitors at 60Hz to the laptops? Eg via a TB3 dock (that also charges the laptop) for one or preferably both of the monitors? If not both, not even via a good TB3 dock due to some TB bandwidth restrictions on these laptops, does it help if you just hook up one of the 4k monitors via the dock and the other one directly via the 2nd TB port on the laptop?
I can’t work without my 2 x 32” 4k monitors at 60Hz setup, plus the screen on the laptop being used as well. Once you start with this much screen real estate and usable pixels, there is no going back to less. So far I have not seen anybody confirming if this type of setup is possible or not.

Hi Tom, I don’t agree the Apple Silicon Geekbench test is unfair. Apple should get an optimised result the same way Intel does on the Intel optimised test? The workloads are supposed to be ‘the same’?

Apple is the most untrustworthy manufacturer IMO . You can never trust anything they say or do . They’re completely sketchy , it’s like they’re constantly looking for ways to screw the consumer. They do everything in their power to not let you use 3rd party repair shops . Constantly trying to conceal any knowledge of anything that might possibly shed a negative light or threaten to sue anyone who goes against them in a totally bullish fashion. This is a scumbag company that constantly tries to force consumers to bow to their will .

Keep in mind you’re comparing a XPS 13 9310 configured at $1650 (or higher) to a $1299 MBP with M1 – that is the first time Apple is releasing a cheaper computer than the competition (by $350 bucks at the least) that matches, and often beats the XPS. Just wow. I am really looking forward to the larger desktop chips and the future generations at this grows. This is a huge leap forward.

Despite having their own chip, the price still considered pricey. Windows laptop still much better.
