Still the best reviews
Well in fact , not reviews
But rather you render THE PROFESSIONAL RELIABLE FACTS
How does 16″ for a student who types a lot ?? Does 16″ feel so heavy?? It’s just 2.1 kg?? Some people call 2.2 kg Alienware laptop as portable but 2.1 16″ as heavy?? Does this feel so heavy in bag???
My only concern for 14′ is the battery life
your reviews are the best. quick and in-depth.
Good call out on wi-fi. I used an Ethernet cable on my M1 Pro and my internet speed literally 7-10x ed
I am coming from a HP envy 17 in with a 4 k screen. I love the new form factor, heat as a non issue , no fan noise and the great speakers in the MacBook 16. I purchased the Apple thinking streaming videos would use all the screen real estate from top to bottom like on my HP 17 but I guess because of the aspect ratio the Apple only has 15 in so I am losing a little over 2 in and apple says they don’t have any remedy and to try a third party app which I have found doesn’t help at all. This would not be a big deal, but I can not see all that well. Does anyone have a recommendation. Thanks!
What speakers are those on the desktop setup?👀
So first you get the 14 inch with M1 Max 24 core GPU, 32GB RAM & 2TB storage, returned that and got the 14 inch with M1 Pro 14 core GPU, 32GB RAM & 2TB storage, kept this and bought the 16 inch with M1 Max 24 core GPU, 32GB RAM & 2TB storage correct?
Did this dude return a laptop because he didn’t like the way the space bar felt? Oh boy…
The 16” is too big for me, the 14” is perfect but too expensive, the 13” is a settle but I really like it. My old asf 15” Lenovo now looks like a behemoth, even though it runs slower.
Thanks for a great and detailed review. I would however not attribute Dropbox issues to the M1 architecture. The Dropbox app sucks no matter the platform. I have had similar issues on an Intel-based Mac.
Hey Josh, I plan on ordering a 14 inch M1 pro this week. I wanted to get the max power, cores, ram, best chip, etc. but I prioritize battery life above almost all else. I won’t be doing video editing, just everyday tasks, school, typing, and maybe some gaming if it can handle it. Should I get the very base chip? Will any upgrades reduce the battery life significantly or can I upgrade the chip but not all the way to the most powerful? Would love your advice/thoughts (or anyone else with more knowledge on computers).
Thanks so much!
Being unable to change SSD was a dealbreaker for me. Unfortunately
This guy makes James Charles talk like an alpha male.
How much is the M1 Pro lacking compared to the M1 Max? My understanding is that it lacks a media engine and so encode and decode of ProRes etc. is much worse?
this guy literally complains about literally everything, so you can tell these are good.
Love this review thank you!! I will be getting the 16 for screen real estate 🙂
Thanks!
So i need a new Laptop for Video editing (4k) and in the future for uni (either software engineering or digital arts). Problem is i hate Fans, need much power but also want to be portable… I was in Store and the 14“ is a great size for portability, but as im using the touchpad most of the time when im working away from my desktop at home (school, cafe, etc.) the 16“ also is great as the touchpad is awesome. I probably would get the M1 Max (32Core) and 64GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD as i have an external SSD and 200GB of Cloud Storage. My questions now. Yall think im going with too high specs? I think of the future where i maybe export a 4k Video in Final Cut and do work in Photoshop or Blender or code something in XCode or IntelliJ… Also yall think i should get the 14“ with M1 Pro and 32GB for portability? At home it will be plugged in to 2-3 external Monitors… I just cant decide and need some comments that help me and my brain to think all that through…
Watching this in my M1 pro MacBook 😍
