Editing 4K on a 13” mid 2013 MacBook Air w/ an i7, 8gb of ram and a 1tb 970 evo ssd(internal). No problems at all.

I just ordered an Apple certified refurbished 2018 MacBook Air with the Apple care, I only got 8GB ram and 256ssd because I was told I could always bring it back within 14 days if I decided the ram wasn’t enough and wanted to upgrade to 16gb. My question is, what things could I try or programs could I use within the 14 days that would give me an idea of how the 8GB preforms? I will mostly be using this laptop as a student (web browsing, essay writing) but I also like to do photography as a hobby (mind you right now I edit with Lightroom on my 3rd gen iPad mini). Any advice on how I could really put this laptop to the test before deciding if it’s the right fit for me?

I have same model, I can watch 4k content using Streaming platforms but not offline 4k videos..It’s not smooth
