You guys need to step up. Some already have reviews and you’re still on hands-on. It’s old and boring content already. It’s not interesting to hear the same subject and features in just different group of words.
Why do reviewers keep saying stuff like it’s not the same as the pro… döh! It’s an air! When the regular macbook gets an upgrade, that one will prob get similar specs as the current pro, and pro even better specs than the current pro etc etc…

Using it for a week now as a main computer, operating daily above average multi tasking usage, the new MBA holds up way over the expectations based on reviews as this one. I use 16GB of RAM and 500 GB of storage. I’m not against pushing Apple to provide more for the price, but it’s injustice to product review mainly by citing specs and compare models (especially to the big brothers). Reviews should provide information in respect to practical ‘real life’ use. The MBA 2018 is a great product for its target market and what it supposed to do. As for the brightness, indeed it’s less than the MBP but giving that the main reason for using MBA for its longer battery life (that’s why I switched from MBP 2016) it’s satisfying enough. Sure enough you can’t enjoy MBP’s 500 nits brightness and keep a long battery life.
I think this is, very much, appropriate for the market who’s new to apple macs. Overall i see this MBA as a good product.
I will not regret it I will buy it in January 2019
the base model MacBook air so yeah bye.
Since YouTube reviewers don’t give a users’ perspective and are too focused on products specs (sorry but you see one review and they’re all the same, home shopping network style review), here’s my take from coding and design perspective:
For beginning coders/programmers/Xcode users, it’s fine.
For UX-UI designers, upgrade to a 16gb RAM (personally , you’re better off with a 15 inch)
For minimal graphic design users/dabblers, it’s just ok but the 290 nits (it’s claimed to be 300 nits) may not be enough luminance.
For pro video editors, advanced programmers (using it for game development, more engineering tasks, get a MacbookPro and spec it up
For those who are afraid of getting Macbook pro 2017 because of the defective keyboard, yes be aware that your keyboard may stop working. They don’t have the silicon membrane of 2018 models for added protection.
For those who think there is no clear choice, I am with you.:The Apple macbook product line has made me more confused because either they’re underpowered or overpriced.
Hope YouTube reviewers started reviewing like this instead of doing spec reviews which you can easily read on the Apple site or see everywhere else.
apple destroyed the macbook air lineup
dual core in 2018, rofl.
