The battery check is a good tip and one that I’m glad you shared. I had a friend who received a botched battery and the cycle count was above 20 even though it was “new”. Make sure you check your devices people!

Good things to know since this is my first macbook. I got the basemodel m2 macbook air midnight even thought I’ve heard about the SSD problems and RAM recommendations. Initially I was thinking of upgrading the RAM to 16GB and SSD to 512GB, but at that point the m1 14″ macbook pro seemed like a much better deal. But considering that I’m going to use it for uni study it’s an overkill. I looked around a bit more and came to the conclusion that buying the basemodel m2 macbook air and an ipad air with apple pencil is going to benefit me more as a student. I get an educational discount and a giftcard when buying apple products. So by buying the macbook first I get a discount on it and a $150 giftcard, which I used when buying the Ipad air (which already has an educational discount). Moreover, I got an $100 giftcard from buying the Ipad which I used when buying the apple pencil. This was I got to use all giftcards that I got from the other orders and the price of a basemodel m2 macbook air and an Ipad air with apple pencil ended up around the price for a m1 14″ macbook pro.

Can you clarify which Google plug-in you’re using? You say ‘Moment’ in the video but your Chrome page looks like the ‘Momentum’ plug-in. They look very similar but reading through the comments of the ‘Moment’ plug-in, it seems like a clone of the Momentum plug-in and possibly spyware.

‘Sparkly’ indeed 👍🏻 Useful stuff, thanks. It’s been a while since I’ve used MacOS since moving to my 2018 iPad Pro a few years back. I must say I prefer this M2 in a lot of ways of course but miss the touch screen but not the smudges! 😆

Great video! I’d be interested in knowing the degree of battery penalty you experience from using Chrome instead of Safari. I don’t have a Mac but I use Chrome or Brave on my devices.

I plan to watch your “100 hours” video next, so maybe I’ll learn something about your battery experience.
