I still using the 2013 late MBP. But, I have already ordered 14″ MBP M1 Pro.
I pass an age. A “bad” Apple MBP age. My company Macbook is 16″ MBP 2019. I really don’t like TouchBar.

The laws of physics didn’t change overnight. To boast a faster speed you must look at the thermal throttling that it causes. My 2018 MacBook Pro can’t attain the speeds advertised because the heat knocks the speed down as soon as it begins processing. Apple didn’t figure out how to fix this since 2018. Edit/add: And the most frustrating thing about an Apple computer under Tim Cook is that he has killed all good games to push everyone into their proprietary Arcade system with monthly payments. In doing so the games offered are terrible silly games for children. When Apple changed to 64 bit they killed my Deus Ex game and about ten other programs that I used on a daily basis and I can no longer use them on an Apple OS. Its the same for mobile devices like iPads. Tim Cook is breaking more software than he’s making, like the lock screen photo Move & Scale code which was broken in 2013 with the introduction of iOS 7.0 and they’ve yet to fix it. Then came the AppleOS breaking of the F8/Play/Pause key function and now you never know what that keyboard key is controlling. That and the addition of more and more steps for each process with each and every new software/system update and you quickly realize you’d be a fool if you spent their asking prices on any new hardware until Tim Cook is gone and they begin fixing everything that he has broken!

gpu perfomance in M1 MAX in 5-10 time slower then rtx 3080 (laptop) its not work right now and they promise to fix it but its not an answer becose bledner work with apple like half year and they cant handle metall api and M1 GPU and promise to fix it in middle of 2022 its redicolus its mean other soft need 2 wait like 2 years>

actually, on the touchbar the volume and brightness icons can be used if you tap and hold and slide your finger left right, you don’t have to tap it then use the slider.
i guess you didn’t know that 🙂

Must say after watching the launch event of M1 Pro, I was tempted to pick one. However watching few reviews from few creators realized I wont be able to use more than 30% of the performance that these chips put out. If ever I can afford to buy these other than work, will consider than.

while the m1 is power efficient and you have to give it credit, your old laptops battery would have been worn out from use and not be able to hold its full capacity.

Currently not supported by many games. The M1 series are not for games, but they are very energy efficient. Battery replacement is very easy in most high-end windows laptops and is no longer a problem. When tested for games you have to actually play the games and not only running the cut-scene videos.

In this video: “Let me compare a brand new laptop battery with just a few cycles on it to a daily-run laptop with (probably) a few hundred cycles on it. Wow, the new one is so much better!” We expect it to be better but it would be great to have this disclaimer in the video tbh. This is 100% not a fair comparison.
