I like the way you put up the benchmark scores with the percentages of battery used. Especially here, it really gives the perspectives of what each device is capable of with each of their energy consumption for the specific tasks mentioned so we get a better idea of just how much effective and efficient the new M1 Max in the MacBook Pro really is.

I had the max on order and then I released that I don’t work for Marvel studios so decided to just get the M1 pro instead. Yes, if you have to ask yourself if you need the max then you don’t need the max.

These are really impressive. I just wish gaming support was better from Apple. One thing worth pointing out is, IIRC, Apple has a manufacturing node advantage over everything else, currently using TSMC 5nm. It just make me that much more excited for next gen cpus from AMD and Intel.

enjoyed this content. Quick question – did you start all your battery drop tests from 100% on both machines? If so, could you rerun one of them starting at 99% and see if the numbers changed? I seem to remember new laptops have over-provisioned batteries to make them last longer over time, so you actually are staring at 105%, and the OS just keeps showing 100% until it drops to 99% of rated battery capacity, not actual capacity. So you might be getting some extra % for free / inaccurate results if you start at “100%”, if that makes sense.
