should I upgrade to this Mac coming from the 2019 13 inch MacBook Pro with 4 thunderbolt ports? I hate how loud the fans are and how hot it gets while editing just a few raw files in lightroom. Not even something crazy, just a maybe 30 at max.

As someone who uses virtual machines a fair bit with linux, unfortunately M1 Macs are something that are not suitable so I’m probably stuck with Intel for now.

I’m a photographer, I would like to know who has more experience, if a Macbook Air M1 with 512gb (8 cores) would be good enough to use the LR and PS only.

Thinking about this for a work computer. But I need something to handle at least 8 internet tabs opened, about 4 word docs opened and to run discord and vonage all at the same time. Will this computer be able to handle all that for a minimum of 8 hours a day?

I find the M1 to be way more powerful and comfortable for long usage than the Pro, but I prefer the design of the air

As someone who spent £1.5k on a 2015 MBP 15″, I’m seriously wondering about the new M1 machines when it comes to replacing it. Not sure if worth waiting for the next iteration as don’t have an immediate need to get one.
