Every freaking reviewer forgot one BIG downside: I/O! M1 sucks on i/o department. No dual external screen native (only with displaylink), and that is the thing that is forcing me to go for 16 MBP (i9)

Im thinking of getting one but I dont know if I should just get the 16gb ram one. I’ll most likely only use it for video/TV shows and maybe World of tanks every now and then. Is the 8gb Mac Air good for that?

Hey Max Tech, I have a question regarding video editing I’ll be recording 99% of my stuff with my GoPro Hero 9 and was leaning towards a MacBook Air M1 for editing. I’m trying to make a somewhat cost effective setup, would you upgrade from the 256gb to 512gb or would you get the 256gb and maybe a 500GB T7 SSD for all the photos, video footage, etc ?

Which one should I get for Photoshop/Lightroom??? MacBook Air 16GB OR MacBook Pro 8GB since they both are available around same price!!! Without using multiple softwares how much RAM does Lightroom consumes ?
( P.S – I’m not into video editing )

I managed to swamp my M1 Air with Chrome running 4 windows, 20+ tabs each (not a special scenario, I usually have such a mess). However, this was rather due to some bug in Chrome – it just worked and suddenly my Air started choking and becoming somewhat slow – not only in Chrome, but also the system itself. Quitting Chrome (which took about 2-3 minutes!) and starting it over with the same set of windows and tabs helped, and so far no new occurrences of the problem. On my old Intel MBAir I had to restart Chrome few times a day and cleaning up mess in Chrome tabs was my daily duty. Good job, Apple! I think I’ll be happy with M1 Air for a long time!

I literally work for Apple and troubleshoot macs for a living, rarely do I get to see the other side and frankly it is bloody fascinating. Just wish I earned enough to get one now! lol

I’m planning to buy mcbk Air. I need a suggestion on storage plz. Shud I buy 256gb storage and add external SSD,(when required) wud cost me extra £100. Or shud I pay £200 and get 512gb. Plz advice!!!
