Can this run fcpx without any problem?
I got my m1 mac a couple days ago and i been pretty happy with it so far
Why don’t you test Air and Pro aside on a real world productivity task that is not for graphic professionals? Connect an external screen and run as many Chrome tabs and Excel sheets as possible!
Hi, could you make a battery comparison between the 13″ macbook pro or a simple battery test if it’s too much of a hassle? I have a 13″ macbook pro bought last year with 16 gb ram, i5, 512gb ssd and the intel gpu (for normal commercial work and web browsing on the go when I’m with clients) to not weigh too much on the battery. I’m curious how the M1 macbook air or pro (13″) are against mine. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work 🙂
Thank you! I bought M1 air and I am happy 😊
I agree, I’ve used it for 2 weeks now for work, video editing, a lot of multitasking and it’s been amazingly quick. Definitely recommend
Based on all of these crappy youtubers reviews I bought 8GB m1 mac mini, convinced that it will be similar performance to my 2018 macbook pro 15’’with 16GB of RAM. Please be careful – 8GB in mac mini m1 is absolutely NOT enough for ANYTHING! I tried to use only ARM based apps – chrome, safari, visual code – for my angular apps development. It stutters and lags so often, that it’s really annoying for everyday work. When the mouse starts to lag, I can see spikes in CPU load. I usually have both safari and chrome opened – where I have most of the websites opened in Safari, and I’m developing in Chrome. The only thing which helps to reduce stuttering and lags is when I close Safari. I also tried to only use single browser – but no difference. To put it simply again – 8GB is enough only for basic browsing, and nothing else. Forget this shitty benchmarks where they show you video encoding performance – m1 is hardware accelerated for both h264 and h265 – so of course it outperforms anything – apple probably invested a lot in those HW encoders/decoders. If you want to use your mac for serious work – and not like all of these youtube wannabes only for video/photo editing – either go for 16GB ram, or just wait for next version of m2 with possibility to go with 32GB of ram – at least it you want that machine last few years. Also keep in mind that big Sur takes A LOT of disk space…
Why are you watching Youtube videos during a zoom conference!?!?!
Double RAM software intensifies: 10:15
Docker working? lol
So you compared the m1 MacBook Air single core performance with the best intel processor. And the M1 won. Then where the M1 could not win you compared the M1 machines with themselves. So you literally showed nothing new since the first reviews came out. This video is very, very misleading. What about multicore performance and gpu performance compared to the 16″ MacBook Pro? Not even talking about those Vega cards in the iMacs
you look and sound kinda different today
How if i used MBA M1 in the tropical country ? Where we always have hot weather and not using Air Conditioner in the room.. is it still cool ?
Title says “We’re wrong.” But the comments say “xxx config HANDS DOWN THE BEST LAPTOP I’VE EVER BOUGHT.”
This is the best Apple Ads I saw so far. Apple should consider letting you do their keynotes. Yes, the M1 CPU is indeed a disruptive innovation (finally… We were waiting for it since iPhones), but as you are apparently struggling to find defects on this “perfect” machine, let me suggest a few: 1) base configuration SSD hard drive is absolutely insufficient, it’s 8 years we have to put up with bringing an external drive because Apple still puts 256 GB on their machines, unless you pay 230 euros for each 230 GB more, which is 4 times more than its actual value; 2) This computer is the least repairable laptop I can think of. Once outside the warranty, that is quite soon… It’s probably a bye bye. This reason is enough for me not to buy it. 3) It is not upgradable whatsoever, so in 5 years it will probably needed to buy another laptop in most situations; 4) It does not have enough ports; 5) Bezels are still too big compared to many of its competitors
As a Graphic designer and video editor, would this MacBook Air be enough? Or should I get the MacBook Pro?
Still not good enough since I want a cheap gaming laptop to run vr games.
Can anyone explain or give examples of how you might push the Air to its limits? I’m torn between the pro and the air, but in reality, I don’t think my day-to-day use will require that level of power:
My laptop needs to:
– Sustain me 8-10 hours a day;
– Run multiple programmes and tabs at once, but nothing too taxing like photo editing or anything. More like Office apps, browsers and a little coding.
Any suggestions that can help me make up my mind please?
Trying to find a good deal on the 512GB model
I don’t have any problem with your content, but you’re incredibly bias lol. It is a really nice laptop though.
