I just ordered 8 core gpu 16gb ram 512 storage MBA M1 for web dev. I hope that it will last at least for 4-5 years. I will get it in 17-28 days. 🙁

i would really love to see if the Air can handle a 40-60 minute video project. i usually only edit in 1080, but i can have a dozen streams of video in a long project.

Hm. Compared to the Pro, the sound in the Air sounds metallic, harsh, and unrefined to me, but it WAS a short comparison, and the music used was terrible machine-pop.
I watch a lot of YouTube videos every day, including both journalistic talkshows and concert videos, so well-balanced sound is vital to me, and I think that the sound in my good old MBP 2010 is better than that in the M1 Air, based on this short demonstration.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t know what to make of the TaskBar on the Pro, compared to the classical F-buttons on the Air, but then, the Air is always complete silent, but the Pro has a larger TouchPad. Choices, choices!
Well, I promissed myself to wait to the next iteration, and in the meantime I can test the loudspeakers with genuine music in the shops.

Yep, Apple puts the guts of an iPhone into a laptop and Mac Mini case and everyone cheers. I call bullsh@t. What they could have done was add a USB C port (or two) to the iPhone 12, and have a desktop mode that ran macOS. That would have been an absolutely killer device, but in typical Apple fashion, they deliberately gimped the iPhone and released an additional product for people to purchase instead.

Bought the MacBook Air yesterday. I came from a MBP 2012. The difference is STUNNING. It’s absolutely crazy how good these things are in pretty much every single way I can imagine. Thanks for all the reviews Max and Vadim

I bought it, too and I’m absolutely impressed! Way better than the Intel Mac before. Battery life lasts for about 1-2 weeks with my personal usage. I have mine for about two weeks now and I’m totally satisfied!

The only problem i’ve had so far, is that firefox doesn’t work correctly. As soon as you add some addons, websites won’t load anymore. Every other app i use works fine with Rosetta.
But a native version should be released in a week, so that problem will be gone soon enough. 🙂 (or i could use the beta)
