I shall just wait until it can run windows rn… really just so tempted to just buy the i9 mbp but i suppose im gonna wait and use my current laptop for school which is i7 7700hq and gtx1070 and its just bulky for me to bring around i wanted the mbp is just cus sleek not too heavy but yea… till windows able to run on m1 i think im gonna wait

I was wondering, how would the mba fare with an external cooling solution? Just one of those dumb fan filled stands. I’m fine with the performance for normal use, but for the odd 3d rendering or heavier video export, every bit of power counts.

Hi… very nice video.
I’m still confused for the battery life and the charging time between Macbook Air and Pro. Can you please comment how much fast is the charging for both? Also does the brightness in real world look drastically low for Air as compared to Pro model?
Looking forward to answers, which will help me make my decision.

Hey max, amazing vid! I really want to buy the base model air m1 because it is absolutely amazing in every aspect expect the display. What is holding me back is staingate. Most youtubers dont even bother mentioning it because they dont use a laptop for more than two years. This being my first macbook concerns me because i have seen people have staingate in a year which is ridiculous for this price.

One thing people keep missing with the 8Gb RAM issue is that if the computer keeps swapping to the SSD, you’ll be deteriorating the SSD much quicker than if you have 16Gb that doesn’t swap. And because the SSD is integrated to the SOC itself, it means that once it dies, the whole computer becomes a write off.

I think the best thing about not having a fan is durability. It won’t get nearly as much dust as computers with fans

Its absurd how every MacBook is focussed on how fast it can edit video or photo. Come on there are other professionals as well, not everyone in the world is a youtuber. No one talks about real creators, people who design the world around us. And for us we cannot use a mac.

What are your thoughts on the longevity of the base MBA for the future? I’m wondering if future updates, optimizations to apps, and new demanding software will make the air outdated a little faster than normal.
