I would say current MBA might be the cheapest mac with apple silicon ever. They are surely not gonna refresh this for 2 year ie complete cycle of intel Mac replacement and by next gen they will shoot up the price or make way by removing all port and only mag safe as option for charging.
This is good machine but it don’t wait and get disappointed! They haven’t promised anything touch screen, foldable, 2 in 1 anything so don’t wait. Microsoft promised all those last year and we don’t know where the hell is Neo product that they promised to release this holiday season.
Kinda feeling bad for intel
Not spit shot at 1:45 🙂
can I just get the 250 rom and put a usb(c) stick in?
Good job! What I miss is 7 vs 8 core gpu comparison for macbook air.
You scared me with your title. I bought my M1 MacBook Air based on your previous review. It’s serving me very well. I mainly do Xcode
I ordered the MacBook Air M1 8 GB RAM model (with 512 GB SSD). I agonized over whether to get the 16 GB RAM model but I just couldn’t justify the extra cost for how I’m using it (for office work, web, etc). Clearly the 8 GB RAM will be plenty fast for my uses. Very encouraged by all the reviews I’m seeing.
Dell laptops… potato cam/mics confirmed.

I have replaced my 7 year old Dell gaming laptop with M1 MacBook Air. I have grown up, 25 now, I am not playing as much games as I use to.
After a week with the MacBook Pro m1 8gb I’ve seen a bunch of beach balls with very low intensity work and native apps like Mail crashing on me. Generally good, running cool and long battery life with a great keyboard. I just think that with all the hype people can be disappointed if they buy with sky high expectations
can u ran antutu on M1 pls, really wanna see the score
Ok, I order the 16gb, Not all third-party applications are going to be equally optimized, when I connect it to my 27 “screen and I want to have several applications running, I don’t want surprises, more than anything because it can’t be expanded. 7core GPU ok, that’s fine, I’m not going to play with it and for the rest there is plenty, 256GB of storage, ok enough, I would like more but for the price of the increase I can have external SSD that I will also have to buy and that without counting the cloud storage. But with the ram I prefer not to risk it.
Boxxxy pros
Great content as always, do you guys ever sleep??
One bit of extra info that you may not have tested for but shows a great example of the Air throttling and why in this case the pro is definitely the way to go:
I opened a scene in Cinema 4D R23 (optimised for M1) on both the M1 air and pro. Pro had 8GB ram, Air had 16GB. That was the only difference between the two.
The scene took 5 minutes to render just 1 frame on both machines. Only a second or two between them.
The second frame took 5 minutes on the pro but 10 minutes on the air. And continued with those timings for the remainder of the test. An extra 5 min per FRAME obviously adds up very quickly when rendering a video, so for this kind of use case, you would definitely want the pro for that sustained performance when doing that kind of work.
I realise this is a rare use case but thought someone doing similar work to me may find it helpful.
For every other scenario, this laptop is a beast as advertised!
Will the m1 macbook air overheat when you put 16gb ram and 2tb ssd storage
Where’s the timestamp !?
Anyone got a link for the wallpaper used on this MB Air ?
Pro M1 with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage
OR
Air M1 8 Core version with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage?
One question that I have is if the Macbook Air is enough for web development? React, Laravel and such…
