after using the mba since first day of launch, the ram does matter if you open 3 browsers with 6-12 tabs and watch 4k youtube/streams every now and then with an external monitor. there are also some homebrew and developer tweaks needed. in addition, many of the apps and ios apps still require quite sometime to optimized into m1. my verdict is get the cheap m1 mba now and switch to more powerful arm mac later next year if needed, because even if you maxed out the current m1, you wont last more than 2 years.

Great video guys!!! The amazing thing is that the M1 chip in the MacBook Air is benchmarking close to the Intel 9900K desktop chip that was all the rage 2 years ago!!!! That is amazing ingenuity.

Looking for some help, I’m thinking about buying either the MBA or MBP both with 16gb ram, but I just don’t know which one would be enough. Quick info about me:
– University Student Business Major
– Discord w/ screen sharing
– VLC
– External Monitor plugged in (whenever I’m home)
– Will probably keep this computer for 4yrs
– Still have my MBP Early-2015 16gb ram

“Annoying touchbar”, sorry man, I love my touch bar on my MBP 13inch :p it’s not a world revolution but I tweaked it a bit and it’s alright now I got used to it 😀

Currently watching on my M1 Air, before I purchased it I was using a ‘gaming pc’ with a intel G4560, 1050ti and 8GB ram. I cant believe how much better this is than a windows laptop/ desktop

I like your review BUT why not testing any Youtuber the Intel Macbook performance after the Big Sur upgrade. Lots of people have intel one and no money change the laptop. Every youtube only M1 device testing. This is very boring already.
