yes it will i am playing lol on my macbook pro 13 2010 model with medium graphic settings and it works smoothly. So i know that the retina will run ever smoother with more ram and the ssd and ofcourse with the intel hd graphics 4000

Agreed, particularly because at the moment the only option is the 15″ version. I hope they release an alternative soon.

It will just have a longer battery life (12 hrs vs 7 hrs) . If you really want to save some money, just buy the refurbished units. I just bought a refurbished MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display at a fraction of the price on Apple’s online store. Save a ton of money!

depends on whether you need it now or not. If it were me, I would wait for the next generation MacBook Pro Retina which will feature Haswell Processors, and will likely come with Mavericks. So I would wait if you could.

Screen resolution. Unless you are going to do things that need a very high quality screen with a much higher resolution than any other laptop, the retina display is not worth it.

after playing around with the Retina macbook pro, it doesnt make YouTube video playback all that much better, just my opinion coming from a current non retina 13 MBP. Just letting all of you know

Nah.. I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple took away discrete GPUs from all MacBooks if Intel Iris GPUs are good enough.

Should I get the current 13″ macbook air with 8GB, i7 and 128GB flash storage or wait for the next gen retina macbook pro? I’ll be using it for college, studying software development and intend to keep it for at least 3 years. I’d rather not spend anymore than €1500 with education pricing at the online apple store.
